Who We Are

Reem Fahey is BETM’s CEO and is responsible for providing strategic, financial and operational leadership to the BETM team in addition to interfacing with BETM’s parent companies, DGC and Mitsubishi. Reem works closely across the entire spectrum of BETM operations, including Trading, Business Development, Origination and Marketing for Energy Management/ Asset Management for third party assets, structured transactions, and merchant transmission investment.

Reem has more than 30 years’ experience in the energy industry, her prior experiences include positions at ComEd / Exelon, S&C Electric Company and the Jordanian Electricity Authority. She joined Edison Mission Marketing & Trading in 1999 as VP, Market Policy & Market Operations, having moved on to SVP, Business Development & Transmission when the company was transitioned to its current name, Boston Energy Trading & Marketing, under NRG. Reem was promoted to President, and subsequently CEO under BETM’s Mitsubishi ownership.

Reem holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan, a Masters of Electrical Power Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has also completed a Women Executive Senior Leadership Program at Kellogg’s Northwestern University. She is bilingual in English and Arabic.

Chris Giangrande is the VP, Accounting at BETM with overall responsibility to manage the Accounting Team which includes accounts payable and trade accounting. Chris is responsible for the financial reporting of BETM including reporting to BETM’s parent company Diamond Generating Corporation “DGC” as well as producing audited financial statements to outside vendors.

His career started with the company in 1991 when he joined the accounting group as the accounts payable account after graduating with a B.S. degree in accounting from Suffolk University. Over more than 30 years of experience he has been responsible for derivative accounting and deal support.

Tom Green is the VP of Operations at BETM responsible for scheduling, dispatching and settlements across all US markets.  He has over 30 years of experience in the energy and utility industry, having held positions in real-time dispatching and scheduling, asset and contract management, market policy and back-office settlements.

In the US Navy, he completed the US Naval Nuclear Power School and Electricians Mate A school training. He was stationed on the USS Long Beach (CGN-9) where he was qualified as an Electrical Operator and Shutdown Reactor Operator. After honorable discharge, he worked at City of Pasadena Water & Power and Eugene Water & Electric Board in substation operator and power dispatcher roles. 

Tom has been with the BETM organization since 1998, originally joining the Edison Source group in CA, and moved to Boston with the acquisition of Citizens Power in 2000. He is experienced in managing bidding, scheduling and settlement activities for fossil and renewable generation in most US ISOs, establishing operating protocols, developing reporting, and client interactions as one of the primary contacts with third parties to manage the market operations at the client facilities.

Louis Martinsen is the SVP, Business Development. He is responsible for leading the Business Development and Origination efforts across the BETM platform including Energy Management Services, Structured Commodity Transactions and Power Supply.

Louis has almost 20 years of experience in Power Origination and Portfolio Management. He joined BETM from Talen Energy where he oversaw Structured Power Origination as well as lead the Commercial Strategy and M&A for the company where he oversaw $20B+ of successful M&A activity during his tenure. Prior to Talen, he was a Structured Power Originator at Talen’s predecessor, PPL EnergyPlus. Louis started his career in power at NextEra Energy where he was a Power Supply Originator and Portfolio Manager.

Louis earned both an MBA and BS in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

Neeraj Prashar is BETM's CIO and is accountable for the information technology and operations technology supporting the company and its clients. He is responsible for overseeing all operations in the IT department focusing on digital capabilities, revenue growth and operational efficiency.

Neeraj has more than 25 years of experience in architecture and strategy implementation across financial domains, with a proven track record of executing large complex software transformational programs and delivering engineering architecture at scale. His strong technical acumen & business domain knowledge facilitated progressively responsible experiences, implementing core data driven solutions for Distributed Computing, Low Latency Trading, Market Risk, Business Intelligence & Analytics across finance verticals.

Neeraj holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Financial Engineering, and is bilingual in English and Hindi.

William Reno is the VP, Risk Management at BETM, with overall responsibility for managing BETM’s risk management teams, including risk analytics, credit risk, trade compliance, and risk reporting.  William’s primary responsibility is to support and control BETM’s existing commercial activities, while helping ensure the company is prepared for the challenges that come with a growing energy trading business. These responsibilities include counterparty/exchange enablement & maintenance, collateral management, deal capture, valuation, confirmations, and compliance swap reporting.

William brings over 25 years of Risk and ETRM (energy trading & risk management) systems experience to BETM.  His career began at Cargill Energy where he held several risk and accounting roles in their oil & natural gas businesses. In 1998 he joined BETM’s predecessor Citizens Power, as a senior operational analyst in the risk group. From there, William progressed into various risk management roles during BETM’s ownership under Edison Mission Energy and NRG Energy, when he assumed overall responsibility for the management of BETM’s risk management team. William received a Bachelor of Science degree from Bentley University.

Brian Sinclair is the SVP, Asset Management at BETM. Brian leads a team responsible for optimizing BETM EMA client generation portfolios. Brian works closely with BETM clients to design strategies for generation offers, capacity, fuel procurement, and hedging to maximize gross margin and manage risk.   

Brian has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry. He joined BETM’s original predecessor Citizens Power in 1998 as a real-time trader. During his 20 + years with the organization, Brian has held positions in energy dispatch, scheduling, trading, and asset management. Brian has extensive experience in portfolio management, designing generation offer strategies for various asset types (including fossil, renewable, and energy storage resources), physical energy arbitrage across ISOs, fuel procurement, managing capacity, and congestion management. Brian earned a B.S. in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Mikhail Solovev is the SVP, Energy Trading & Analytics at BETM. He started at BETM in August, 2018 as a Senior Director of Asset Valuations, in 2019, he become responsible for Analytics and in January 2022, he was promoted to SVP, Energy Trading & Analytics.

Mikhail joined BETM from Citadel where for 11 years he oversaw fundamental modeling of Natural Gas to drive systemic short and medium term directional NYMEX trading strategies for one of the largest commodities businesses in the hedge fund industry. He began his energy carrier at the Edison Mission Marketing & Trading, as an Analyst and was eventually promoted to the role of Director (2002-2007), where he worked both on leading Asset Valuation and Optimization initiatives and was also an original team member of FTR and Virtual Bidding Trading. Mikhail’s early professional experience also includes time at Exeter Group (1999-2002), where he worked as a Project Manager managing a team of Analysts and Developers designing, developing and managing web-based XML and SQL database driven tracking and billing systems.

Mikhail holds a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from MIT (Cambridge, MA), and a M.S. in Mathematical Physics from Moscow State University (Russia).
